My poor quality of life is what motivated me to do the 12 week challenge, always tired, stressed and never feeling good about myself. My partner had entered the challenge previously but I dragged her down through my love of beer and takeaway food. We had always talked about a lifestyle change but had never acted upon it. Until one day she bought me home a copy of Australian Ironman Magazine. After seeing the previous BodyBlitz winners, it was like waving a red flag in front of a bull. Something clicked and from that moment, it was game on. I then read several Australian Ironman and Womens Health and Fitness Magazines, searching for information on a whole new world. With money too tight to join a gym, we purchased some second hand fitness equipment and borrowed what we could off family and friends. Three weeks in I went back to the old me, eating takeaway foods and binge drinking on weekends. After two weeks of watching my partner’s determination continue and her encouragement and support, I started training again.
Now that I have finished my 12 weeks, I feel proud and have a new found sense of confidence. But this is only the first step, my goal is to enter a bodybuilding competition by Novemeber. I have changed my life around and I am so happy now.
Training Split
** Alternated three days on two days off Day 1: Chest, arms, 25 mins cardio Day 2: Shoulders, back, abs Day 3: Thighs calves
Followed by two days rest,
then repeat.
Diet Breakfast: Oats, protein shake, 2 pieces of toast or 3 egg whites, 1 yolk Morning tea: 2 pieces of fruit Lunch: Tuna and rice/ tuna salad Afternoon Tea: Protein shake Dinner: Chicken/fish/red meat with salad/veggies
